Supports the mission of the university by: The Collections Manager will assist the Martin Museum of Art Director with the conservation and maintenance of all art collections managed by the Martin Museum of Art, and work with the Office of Internal Audit with the research and management of artwork on campus. Duties also include inventorying, organizing, and cataloging objects and documents in the collections, and preparation and display of collections.
 Essential FunctionsPct Of Time

Manage all aspects of collections care, following and implementing accepted museum professional standards and practices including acquisitions, deaccessions, cataloging, storage, inventory and preservation campus wide. 20.00 %

*

Responsible for logistics related to loans and traveling exhibitions, including documentation, condition reports, packing, shipping, and receiving. Administer loan forms, and agreements, and ensure adherence to established policies campus wide. 15.00 %

*

Develop and implements short, medium, and long-term plans, policies and procedures for the care and management of the museum’s collections campus wide. 15.00 %

*

Make collection available to as well as provide scholarly and professional services to external audiences, including the students, faculty, and staff of Baylor University, museum professionals, researchers and the community. 15.00 %

*

Maintain care and oversight of McMullen Connally Family Collection, including preservation, rotation of works, and archives. 15.00 %

Assist Director with curatorial needs including research for exhibitions, loans, and content development. 10.00 %

Provides technical, design, and maintenance input into permanent exhibits, and assist with exhibition installation. 10.00 %

Advanced knowledge is required in planning and completing assignments, resolving conflicts and coordinating work with others. Job Requirements:
 Education Minimum Required Master's Degree
Preferred Master's Degree
Field of Study Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field
 Experience Minimum Required 1 year
Preferred 3 years
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations Minimum Required
Preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills or Other Abilities Minimum Required Experience in museum collections required.
Preferred Experience in art museum collections preferred.
