Supports the mission of the university by: This position specifically supports the mission through coordinating regional recruitment in key markets, establishing new relationships and networks throughout the US, and recruiting students to increase the number of out-of-state students at Baylor University.

Independently develop a strategic plan to visit key areas within region. Coordinate/execute all high school visits & fairs by working with counselors, Parents Network, Development & other constituent groups. Aggressively identify new outreach markets. 35.00 %

Strategically identify areas to host recruiting events; secure venues; process any contracts. Travel and serve as host at events throughout the year. Develop new initiatives and events specific to the needs of various key areas. 15.00 %

Responsible for meeting yearly enrollment goals as they impact net tuition revenue for the University. Independently manage a geographic territory and strategically work with students to convert inquiries to applicants and to increase yield. 10.00 %

Use systems to maximize applicant potential within territory & build individualized recruiting reports. Implement targeted calling/email/mail campaigns to accelerate students through enrollment funnel. 10.00 %

Be an expert on all admissions policies & procedures; actively maintain a wealth of information about Baylor's academic/social/spiritual opportunities so as to personally & persuasively recruit students & tailor messaging to achieve enrollment goals. 10.00 %

Counsel students/parents as they navigate through a complex & competitive process using advanced listening & counseling skills. Holistically review admission files, make admission/rejection decisions, prepare recommendations to admissions committee. 15.00 %

Responsible for planning and maintaining a travel budget as assigned to the territory. Accountable for knowing Baylor’s legal travel policies and adhering to all university policies and procedures. 5.00 %
Level of Independence: Instructions and guidelines define overall goals and priorities under limited supervision. This position may have the authority to commit the employer in matters that have financial impact. Advanced knowledge is required in planning and completing assignments, resolving conflicts and coordinating work with others. This position has the authority to make decisions without direction from supervisor

Special Knowledge, Skills or Other Abilities Minimum Required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and multitasking skills, and the ability to work autonomously. Familiar with and enthusiastic about Baylor and be a self-starter who is highly motivated. Strong social skills are required to meet people easily and adjust quickly to varying situations. A valid driver’s license is required since candidate will have extensive travel within assigned territory. Candidates are required to work a substantial amount of nights and weekends as necessary. Candidate will reside in the assigned region, California, and be in close contact with the Waco based Admissions office. Work out of personal residence with ability to travel to Baylor campus for on-campus events and training is mandatory. High energy level and be able to work under strict deadlines. Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are essential to this position.
Preferred A proactive approach to developing recruitment initiatives, learn technical programs related to the job, and communication with supervisor when clarification is needed is important. Demonstrated ability to self-manage, be held accountable, and independently make decisions. Implement programs thoroughly planned to impact enrollment goals. Candidate should have a proactive approach to consistently communicate with prospective students, families, and school officials in assigned territory. Extensive interaction with diverse populations and proven ability to understand and relate with needs of population. Self-directed development of collaborations with Alumni and Parent’s Network for special initiatives and yield events. Northern California residence is preferred.
