Director for Student Leadership Education and Development
As the Academy for Leadership Development grows the scope and scale of our programs and initiatives, and as we continue support the Dean for Student Development leadership development initiatives for the Division of Student Life, staff support for our leadership development offerings is essential to the overall success of our departmental aspirations. This Assistant Director will support all ALD leadership development initiatives, as well as working alongside the Director to develop new leadership initiatives that will have a significant impact within the department and across the division.
Description Pct. of Time
Coordinate, develop, and assist in the execution of co-curricular leadership initiatives spearheaded by the Academy for Leadership Development such as EMERGE, Lone Star (LeaderShape) Institute, Leave Your Mark, ALD Speaker Series, Christian Leadership Institute (CLI), departmental student leadership retreats, and student leadership training. 50%
Coordinate the Peer Leader Program including establishment of new iterations, recruitment of peer leaders, ensuring professional development of existing peer leaders, and coordinating with appropriate departments. 35%
Coordinate, manage and oversee the Peer Leader Program Budget. 5%
Work with faculty/staff members to help develop proposed peer leader course syllabi. Coordinate with the School of Education Leadership Studies Coordinator to submit courses for SoE approval. 5%
